William T. Rogers Jr., 72, of Kankakee, IL, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Riverside Medical Center. Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lax Mortuary and again on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Services at 12:00 p.m. at Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Essie Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Momence Cemetery. William T. Rogers Jr. was born on April 9, 1940 in Chicago, IL to the late Ethel & William T. Rogers Sr. He had worked at a parking garage in Chicago, IL. He had a passion for playing the game of billiard, talking on his CB and later years the love of computers. At a young age William married the late Shirley Powell. On June 21, 2009 he was united in marriage to Mary Tina Barnes. His life will be cherished and remembered by his wife, Mary Tina Barnes-Rogers, of Kankakee, IL; his children, William III, Cynthia, Clarence, Malissa and Sonja Rogers, all of Chicago, IL, Joseph Dunlap and Evette Anderson, both of Kankakee, IL, and Erick Jenkins of Jackson, Mississippi: two step-children; Lonyea Dunlap and Johnnie L. Barnes III, both of Shreveport, LA; four sisters; Judith Harvey (Homer) of Detroit Michigan, Barbara Jean Ross (McKinley), Darlynn Jewel McKinney (Calvin) and Vivian Francis Butts (Andray), all of Chicago, IL; five brothers, Cornelius Walter Rogers of Spring Hill, FL, Leonard Rogers (Rev. Essie) and Aaron DuWayne Rogers all of Chicago, IL and Darryl Lee Rogers (Michelle) and Erwin Victor Rogers (Alice), all of Fort Worth, TX; eight grandchildren, Dominique, Joseph, Kiara, Andre, Dejour, Naynna, Chris and Robert.; one great grandchild, Sikyla; sisters in law, Patricia Jordan (William) and Arnettia Marshall (Willie) all of Hopkins Park, IL and Teresa Dunlap, of Kankakee, IL; brothers in law, Larry Dunlap (Juliette), Ralph Dunlap (Etta) and John Dunlap, all of Kankakee, IL; one great aunt, Rose Nelson of Chicago IL; three aunt, Jeanette Smith (Eugene) of Oak Forest, IL, June Jones of Broadview, IL and Miriam Rogers of Chicago, IL. one uncle, Ronnie Rogers of Skokie, IL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina Dunlap and siblings, Erick Sydney, John Thomas, Gladys Madelyn Jenkins, Marcia Marie Walker, Jerome Rogers and Rev Jeanette R. Thornton.
