Vincent Canada

Vincent Keith Canada born on October 12, 1964, passed away on April 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, talent, and dedication to his community. He was the beloved son of Belty Canada and Evelyn Ruth Caldwell Canada. A devoted member of Second Baptist Church, Vincent served faithfully as an usher and choir member, offering both his warm presence and musical gifts to the congregation. His love for music carried through his life, beginning with his time in the band and Drum and Bugle Corps at Westview Senior High School, from which he graduated in 1982. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from DeVry University and was also professionally trained as a chef and was employed by Buehler Retirement Home. Among his many culinary talents, he was especially renowned for his famous brownies, which became a cherished favorite among family and friends. Vincent found joy in collecting comic books and playing a variety of musical instruments, passions that reflected his curiosity and creativity. His love for football, both as a player during high school and later as a dedicated coach for the Azzarelli Colts, demonstrated his commitment to mentorship and teamwork. He leaves to cherish his memory, his companion of 25 years, Virginia Robinson; daughter, Camella Stewart; grandsons, Alcorien Jones and Shaquille Alexander; two brothers, Dwayne A. Canada of Atlanta, GA and Ricky (Sherry) Green of Kankakee, IL; two sisters, LaRita Washington of Kankakee, IL and Marquerite Y. Canada of San Antonio, TX; nephews, Brandon Washington, Robert Washington, Marcus Naylor, Marlon Naylor and Devin Canada; nieces, Tyesha Jones, Chauncia Jones and Devona Canada; cousins, Annie Ruth Caldwell, Larry Smith, Michael Yarbrough, Cynthia Jackson, Tracy Verrett, Rev. Troy Caldwell and Leslie Caldwell and a host of cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Sammy L. and Mathan Caldwell; paternal grandparents, Robert and Pearlie Smith Kennedy; a sister, LaQuita Canada; uncles and aunts, Lessie and Margaret Caldwell, Searcy Caldwell, Eddie and Eliza Hite, Essie Hamilton, C.W. and Mahalia Spencer, J.D. and Nevelyn Sanders, Ernest King and Melvin Kennedy; cousins, Barbara Caldwell, Carmen Johnson, Marquita Adkins, Taliferia Spencer, Gwendolyn Smith and Monica Thornton.
