Kysha Dobbs-Sanders

Kysha L. Dobbs-Sanders was born November 7, 1976 in Chicago, IL to Lynda Dobbs. Kysha attended Morgan Park High School. She attended Bedford House in 1994, where she met her husband, Junior Sanders. She married Junior Sanders on February 1, 1997. The couple married at the City Hall in Chicago, Illinois. From that marriage, Kysha bore three children: Janandy Simone, Jakyla Marie, and Jalinci Pauline Sanders. Through marriage, she also gained two daughters, Jalisha Nichelle and Jazmine Dana-Marie Sanders. Kysha developed a passion to care for children who are displaced from their households, as well as children with disabilities. In 2006, Kysha pursued a career with DCFS, completing multiple classes to become a Foster Care Parent with a specialization in special and medical conditions/needs. Kysha adopted her third child, Cooper Dobbs-Sanders in the year 2007. She gained knowledge and grew an even deeper passion to advocate for children. Kysha aspired to run a daycare for disabled children and in 2010, Kysha adopted her fourth child, Dylan Dobbs-Sanders. In the year 2021, Kysha was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the Holy Ghost in accordance with Acts 2:38 at Christ Temple Church Bloomington. She subsequently attended Morning Star Baptist Church and Fair Haven COGIC. In 2023, still driven by a desire to help children, she began pursuing a college degree in Childhood Education online at Penn Foster. She was also concurrently pursuing her C.N.A license at Kankakee Community College. In 2024, Kysha worked as a caregiver for the elderly and began pursuing classes to adopt another child into her loving home. In her last days, she enjoyed reading her bible, singing in the choir and being a caregiver. Her greatest joys were praising the Lord, taking care of her children, singing, reading and educating herself on the bible and, of course, telling people about Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior! She was always a shoulder to cry on and a helping hand for those in need. Kysha passed away March 6, 2024. She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Lynda Dobbs; her lovely husband, Junior Sanders; seven children: Jalinci Pauline Sanders, Dylan Dobbs-Sanders, Cooper Dobbs-Sanders, Jakyla Marie Sanders, Janandy Simone Sanders, Jalisha Nichelle Sanders, and Jazmine Dana-Marie Sanders.
