CHARLES JONES

Charles E. Jones, 58, of Kankakee, IL died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at his residence. Visitation will be Friday, April 18, 2014 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Lax Mortuary and again on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Free Christian Center, 111 Oak Street, Kankakee, IL. Reverend Christopher Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Indianola, Mississippi. Charles E. Jones was born October 22, 1955 in Inverness, Mississippi, the third of seven children born to Garfield Jones Sr. and Fannie Hyde Jones. He was baptized at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Inverness Mississippi. Charles was a 1974 graduate of Gentry High School in Indianola, Mississippi and attended vocational school in Kansas City, MO where he studied auto mechanics. He was united in Holy) Matrimony to the former Carolyn Johnson on October 21, 1989. He rode with the Ram Rods Motorcycle Club, and later joined the Les Rock Motorcycle Club. Charles was employed by River Valley Metro as a bus driver. He was known for his grilling; had a great sense of humor and was constantly creating pranks to humor his family and friends. He also enjoyed riding with his motorcycle clubs. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Carolyn Jones of Kankakee, IL; two daughters and sons-in-law, Caressia and James Yancy of Kansas City, MO and Yoshika and Humberto Puente, of Houston, TX; two sons and daughters-in-law, Yacol and Margaret Johnson of Momence IL and Yasmin and Nichelle Johnson of Irving, TX; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Willie C Jones and Walter and Debra Jones, all of Jefferson City, MO and Garfield, Jr. and Dorothy Jones of Bourbonnais, IL; two sisters and one brother in law, Lessie Chandler of Indianola, Mississippi and Angela and Michael Sibley of Inverness, Mississippi; one aunt, Lula Jones of Momence, IL; a special granddaughter, Chasity Lee of Kankakee, IL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Evalena Moore of Lincoln, IL, Margarette Tate, Consuella Tate, And David Tate, all of Kankakee, IL; Eddie Tate Jr. of Ft Lauderdale, FL, Alex Tate of Minneapolis, MN and Eric Tate of Bourbonnais, IL; his special friends, the motorcycle riders; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by, his parents, Garfield and Fannie Hyde Jones a son, Val Jones, a brother, L. C. Hyde and a grandson, AÃ¢â‚¬â„¢Treu Johnson.
