ANDREVION JONES

Andrevion Nykel Jones, 13, of Kankakee, IL, died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL. Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Ronald L. Bartlett will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Andrevion Nykel Jones (known by his family and friends as AJ) was born July 16, 2001 in Kankakee, IL to Nacahya Jones and Andre Jones. Andrevion attended Kankakee Junior High School where he graduated June 2, 2015. He was a very talented young man. Andrevion was a team player for three different sports; he was a basketball player for the Kankakee Junior High Kays, where he played the position of power forward; he played football for the Kankakee Eastside Bulldogs where he was a tight end outside linebacker; he also played baseball for Big JoeÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s team as well. He enjoyed playing video games. He was very well known in the community for his positive leadership in sports. He was a straight A student with his favorite subject being math. He was awarded many trophies and certificates acknowledging his accomplishments. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Nacahya Jones (Quantel Riley) of Kankakee, IL; his father, Andre Jones of Columbus, OH; one sister, NaÃ¢â‚¬â„¢Kyrah Cooks of Kankakee, IL; two brothers, Demetrius and Kenyon Jones of Kankakee, IL; maternal grandmother, Paulette Jones of Hopkins Park, IL; paternal grandmother, Charline Jones of Kankakee, IL; one aunt, Neriah Jones of Kankakee, IL; two uncles, Tyron Smith and Troy Jones Jr., both of Kankakee, IL; great aunts, Edwina, Wanda, Annette, Katherine, Beverly, Geneva, Edna, Jackie and Ernestine; great uncles, Milton, Charles, Eric and Lee; special aunts, Tomaceia, Felicia Riley and Terri Harris; two special friends, Faizon Woods and Jamal Lewis and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eugene Hairston; his maternal great grandfather, Mackner Patterson; his paternal grandfather, Troy Jones Sr. and his paternal great grandmother, Bessie Langon.
