Vince Maurice Parker, 43, of Kankakee, IL, died March 24, 2015 at Presence St. MaryÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Hospital. Visitation will be Friday, April 3, 2015 from 3:30 P.M. until 8:00 P. M. at Lax Mortuary and again on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. until time of Funeral Services at 10:00 A.M. at New Jackson Tabernacle. Pastor Tommy Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Vince Maurice Parker was born January 13, 1972 in St. Louis, MO to Kenneth Maurice Parker and Ethel Lee Miles Hudson. At the age of five, his family moved to Kankakee, IL. Vince accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Born Again Church. He graduated from Kankakee High School in 1990 where he played football and basketball. Thereafter he attended Marshall University where he majored in Business and received a Masters Degree. Vince was an avid sportsman, he particularly enjoyed playing and coaching football and working with children. He received the MVP award in football as well as other awards and won National Football Championship in 1992 and 1993. He was employed at Indian Oaks Academy where he was a very strong positive mentor at work and to the community. Vince was a peacemaker and will be mostly remembered because he loved his family with an unwavering passion, always giving of himself and always there when needed. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and going to the shooting range. On March 24, 2015, Vince made his transition from mortality to immortality and went home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Ethel Hudson of Kankakee, IL; two daughters, Chykyra Parker and Skylar Parker, both of Kankakee, IL; one brother, Clayton Cortez Hudson of Kankakee, IL; his fiancÃƒÂ©e, Tonya Samuels of Kankakee, IL; a sister-in-law, Amaris James of Kankakee, IL; a stepbrother, Leo Ã¢â‚¬Å"BirdÃ¢â‚¬Â Hunt of Kankakee, IL; one nephew, Amir Hudson of Kankakee, IL; special friends, Alfie Winfield and George Thomas, both of Kankakee, IL, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, J.T. and Ethel Miles and three uncles, George Miles, John Miles and Ernest Ã¢â‚¬Å"MickyÃ¢â‚¬Â Miles.
