SARAH JORDAN Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sarah L. Jordan, 71, of Sun River Terrace, IL, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at her home. Visitation will be Monday, July 13, 2015 from 11:00 am until time of funeral services at 12:00 pm at Lax Mortuary. Reverend Ricky Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Sarah L. Jordan was born September 12, 1943 in Brownsville, Indiana to Eugene Thompson and Josephine Hanner. Sarah was married to Cardell West and William Jordan. She was employed by The Intake Group. Sarah would like to let you know her work here on Earth is complete. The time has come for her to reunite with family and friends she hasnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t seen in a long time. Her new journey takes her to a place where she will be gardening, playing BINGO, and having endless fun. She has left detailed instructions for her children. Left to continue tending to her ever growing garden are her children, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cynthia Talley of Sun River Terrace, IL, Patricia and Larry Cox of St. Anne, IL and Helen and Edward Sanders Jr. of Sun River Terrace, IL; two sons, Billy and Pat Jordan and Darryl and Julie Jordan; a special daughter, Mary (Joe) Baptist of Kankakee, IL. Her seeds will continue to grow in her 12 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Pickens of Pembroke Township, IL, Marjorie Blue of Chicago, IL and Joyce Simms of Columbus, OH; one aunt, Mary of Indiana; a special friend, Elnora Franks of Sun River Terrace, IL, her beloved cat, Pudden, and a host of other relatives and friends. Sarah is being reunited with her parents, her husbands, her son-in-law, Cornelius L. Talley Sr., her brothers-in-law, Curtis Pickens, Charles Ã¢â‚¬Å"PDÃ¢â‚¬Â Blue, and Howard Simms and a niece and a nephew. She will always be remembered for her Ã¢â‚¬Å"tell-it-like-it-isÃ¢â‚¬Â demeanor and quick wit. She was a woman with many gifts and talents and was never selfish in sharing them. She will truly be missed for many different reasons by many different people.
