Ray Miller, 75, of Kankakee, IL, died Friday, April 5, 2013 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 10:00 a. m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a. m. at Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church, Kankakee, IL. Pastor Ronald L. Bartlett Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Ray Miller was born March 07, 1938 in St. Louis, MO to Nettie Hood Freeman and Roy Miller. He was a member of Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He enjoyed ushering at funerals, and escorting the Pastor to the pulpit on Sundays. He worked as an assembler at Kankakee County Training Center. He will be remembered most for being a very friendly and sociable person, who loved music. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted sister, Seliqua Rosenthal of Kankakee, IL; four nieces; Tyjuana Rosenthal, Geaniece Nelson, Dametria Rosenthal and Kiana Rosenthal, all of Kankakee, IL; three great-nephews, Jason Pickens, Zy’ierre Nelson and Jahierre Rosenthal; six great-nieces, Samaria Rosenthal, Aikala Rosenthal, Saryla McCurry, Jamaria Rosenthal-Barlow, Akena Lewis and Akira Lewis; the Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church family and ushers, Gift of God Street Church and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Nettie Freeman and aunts, Novella Cornegay and Roberta Ward.
