July 4, 1952 - May 16, 2022
Marsean “Margean” Murden was born July 4, 1952 in Chicago, IL to the late Hezekiah and Maggie Brim Boyd. She confessed Christ at a young age and was baptized at Great Exodus Baptist Church where she served as an usher and sang in the choir under the leadership of the late Rev. Whitehead. She moved to Pembroke and married the late Leroy Murden and their union was blessed with four children. She joined Guiding Star under the late Rev. Crowell and later became a member of St Mary under the late Mother Ingles, now Christ Deliverance Pentecostal Church, under the leadership of Pastor Rover. A resident of Kankakee County for 38 years, she worked as a social worker with disabled children. She sang in two Gospel groups, The Heavenly Stars and Good Spirits and wrote some of the songs they sang. Her hobbies were gardening, writing music, singing and fishing. Jesus called Marsean home at the age of 69 years old. The angels sealed her lips with a kiss of love and Marsean’s soul departed this life for eternal life with Jesus. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Larry, Dana L. and Antwan Boyd, all of Kankakee, IL and Charles Westbrook of Memphis, TN; her daughters, Kinika Boyd of New York and Debbie Malone of Tennessee; her brothers, Hezekiah (Vida) Boyd of Mississippi and Tayrone Boyd of Kankakee, IL; her sisters, Elise (Louis) Golston and Lerviearn Boyd, both of Kankakee, IL and Maxine Boyd of Pembroke Township, IL; 27 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. I, Marsean Murden, leave to my family a special gift, joy that I had when I was with you. My love, peace and happiness, and a special prayer as I spend my new life with God, because He gave me this path to walk through hand in hand with my Father. On my walk I saw my husband, Leroy Murden, my parents, Hezekiah and Maggie Boyd. I saw my brothers, John and Elak Boyd, my sister, Willie Lee Humphrey, my nephews, Tay and Mont, my niece, Angel, my grandparents, and other family and friends new and old. So my prayer for you is not to cry, but to rejoice for I have a new life with God.
