Mary E. Snapp, age 91, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at her home in Manteno, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at The Kingdom Hall of JehovahÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Witnesses, 720 Rowell Ave., Joliet, IL. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Mary E. Snapp was born December 29, 1924 in Rockford, TN to Clyde and Mattie (Kellogg) Henry. Due to the death of her mother when she was 18 months, she was raised by her mothrÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s parents, John Thomas and Anna Pearl Kellogg, along with her eight aunts and uncles. She was united in marriage to Warren Henry Snapp on January 1, 1943 in Knoxville, TN, making the paper as the first couple to marry that year. To this union 12 children were born. Mary and Warren moved to Chicago, IL in 1948 and then to Lockport, IL in 1951. Mary dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of JehovahÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Witnesses in 1995. She enjoyed reading her Bible and sharing things she learned with others. She loved Jehovah and her fondest wish was Ã¢â‚¬Å"all my children get to know Jehovah and serve him.Ã¢â‚¬Â Mary also enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping, chocolate, blue berry muffins and skittles. She will be remembered most by her family for not only her wisdom, but for her humor and quick wit. She leaves to cherish her memory, six sons, Warren C. (Jacklen) Snapp Sr., Howard (Debra) Snapp Sr., Clyde (Ingrid) Snapp Sr., all of Joliet, IL, David Snapp of San Bernardino, CA, Darryl Snapp of Cadillac, MI and Patrick (Deidra) Snapp of Decatur, IL; six daughters, Ranona (Charles) Dixon, Rose (Adrian) Heath, both of Joliet, IL, Sidonia (David) Range of Glenwood, IL, Rene (Robert) Scott of Lockport, IL, Alicia Lee of Richton Park, IL and Ardis (Jobie) Mosley of Manteno, IL; a sister-in-law, Lucille Craft of Detroit, MI; a brother-in-law, Thomas Snapp of Knoxville, TN; a nephew, Gregory Craft, whom she dubbed as her 13th child, a special cousin, Susie Barber; 45 grandchildren; 124 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, David L. Henry; her sister, Ruth Henry; one grandchild and six great-grandchildren.
