MARY PITTS Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Lucille Pitts, 100, of Sun River Terrace, IL, died March 19, 2018 at her home. Visitation will be Friday, March 30, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at Lax Mortuary. Dr. Stanley Biles will be the eulogist. Burial will be in Mt. Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, IL. Mary Lucille Pitts was born February 11, 1918 in Clarence, Louisiana to Charles and Teraylene Purvis Braden. She was united in marriage to James Arthur Pitts Sr. and to their union, one child was born. Mrs. Pitts had worked at Manteno State Hospital. She was a seamstress and excellent creole cook. She was a member of Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Her favorite hymns were Ã¢â‚¬Å"Jesus Loves MeÃ¢â‚¬Â and Ã¢â‚¬Å"Rock in a Weary Land.Ã¢â‚¬Â She leaves to cherish her memory, one granddaughter, Lorell Johnson of South Holland, IL; a daughter-in-law, Lula B. Pitts of Chicago, IL; two great-grandchildren, twins, EÃ¢â‚¬â„¢Lon A. Johnson and Elijah J. Johnson, both of South Holland, IL; special friends, Brenda Tucker and Sandra Rice, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, James Arthur Pitts Jr.; nine siblings and a special nephew, Darryl.
