LaQuita Canada, 50, of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Kankakee, IL, transitioned on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, TX. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Lax Mortuary and again on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. until time of Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M. at Second Baptist Church. Reverend Troy L. Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. LaQuita Canada was born on February 17, 1961 in Kankakee, IL to Belty and Evelyn Caldwell Canada. She was a graduate of Kankakee High School. She was employed at KMart from 1985-2003. She relocated to Jackson, TN in 2004 and worked as a residential assistant at Morningside Rehabilitation and Jackson Oaks Assisted Living. Ms. Canada was an active member of the choir at Second Baptist Church and at Christ Temple Church, where she also served as PastorÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Aide. She enjoyed serving the Lord in her later years at All Nations Church of God in Jackson, TN and at Extreme Impact Church in San Antonio, TX, where she worked in the Outreach Ministry. She loved people and never considered anyone a stranger. She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Tyesha Jones and Chauncia Jones both of San Antonio, TX; one grandchild, Jeremiah Aldridge of San Antonio, TX; her mother, of Kankakee IL; two sisters, LaRita Washington of Kankakee, IL and Marquerite Canada of Converse, TX; three brothers, Dwayne Canada of Atlanta, GA, Vincent Canada of Peoria, IL and Rickele Green of Bourbonnais, IL; one maternal uncle, Searcy Caldwell of Meadville, PA and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Marthann and Sammy Caldwell; paternal grandparents, Pearl Smith and Robert Canada; maternal aunts, Essie Hamilton, Mahayla Spencer and Nevelyn Sanders; a maternal uncle, Lessie Caldwell; paternal uncles, Earnest King and Melvin Kennedy; a paternal aunt, Eliza Hite; special cousins, Barbara Ann Caldwell, Taleserro Spencer and Gwendolyn Thomas.
