    Ida Slack

    August 3, 1942 - October 26, 2020

Ida Mae Slack was born August 3, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Charles and Edna Nowling. She was married to Fred Slack. They had four sons and two daughters, sadly their two daughters passed away at birth. Fred and Ida raised their four sons in California. Ida loved her four boys and raised them with love and lots of laughter. After moving to California, Fred and Ida were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses. They raised their children to love people and to apply Bible truths and principles in their life. Ida loved the hope of the resurrection and looked forward to seeing her two daughters, her parents and her two grandchildren, Joshua and Jada in the new world. She leaves to cherish her memory, her four sons, Freddie Slack of Pueblo, CO, Stephen Andre Slack of San Diego, CA, Vincent (Kimberly) Slack of Kankakee, IL and Allen “Max” (Debra) Slack of Chino Hills, CA; two granddaughters, Shatara (Antonio) Stenson of Atlanta, GA and Tiffany Lane of Desert Hot Springs, CA; one grandson, Aaron Catchings of Warwick, NY; seven great-grandchildren, Taniyah Sturgis, Jayvien Smith, Isaiah Pankey, Jaedah Pankey, DeAndre Flemmings, Brandon Wright and Brianna Wright; two sisters, Janett Reid of Chicago, IL and Marrie Nowling of Dalton, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters; ex-husband, Fred Slack; granddaughter, Jada Slack; grandson, Joshua Pankey; and brothers, Charlie Nowling, Norman Nowling and Luis Nowling. To Grandma Oh my sweet Grandma Ida, Lord only knows how much I'm going to miss you and cherish our conversations about life and all the great advice you always gave me. You always told me how proud you were of me and that meant so much to me. My heart is filled with grief and gratefulness. Grief your no longer here with me but so grateful I had the honor of being blessed with a loving grandmother like you. You were the best grandma I could of ever had. I thank God I had you this long. There isn't a day that will go by I won't think of you and miss you with everything in me. Thank you for always showing and telling me how much I meant to you. You meant everything to me as well. I will always be Granny's baby and you will always be my everything.
