Frankie Joe Howery, 71, of Kankakee, died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, IL. Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lax Mortuary and again on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church. Reverend Tyler Prude will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Frankie Joe Howery was born May 9, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the second of eleven children born to Benjamin F. and Pauline D. Smith Howery. He was baptized at a young age at St. James Baptist Church by Reverend James Carter. He received his AA degree from Kankakee Community College. Mr. Howery, who worked as a mechanic for United Airlines, served in the United States Air Force from 1964 until 1968. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Amelia Tolentino on January 13, 1967 and to their union two children were born. He will be remembered for making people laugh and always lending an ear. His hobby was photography. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Amelia Howery of Kankakee, IL; two daughters and sons-in-law, Miranda and Norman Jeter of Atlanta, GA and Frankie and Bennie Jackson of Kankakee, IL; six brothers and four sisters-in-law, Warren Howery and Earl and Leena Howery, all of Houston, TX, Steven and Phyllis Howery of Kankakee, IL, Bernon Howery of Menard, IL, Kerry and Lisa Howery of St. Louis, MO and Jeffery and Debra Howery of Richton Park, IL; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Brenda and Paul Lee of Bourbonnais, IL, Betty Howery of Stone Mountain, GA and Trina and Tommie Hawkins of Houston, TX; his in-laws, Delfin and Hilda Tolentino and Soledad and Jose Malavega, all of Los Angeles, CA and Bernadita Tolentino of Manila, Philippines; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Norman Howery.
