    EARNEST ROBERTSON

    July 15, 1926 - May 31, 2018

    Earnest â€Å"Lil Boot†Robertson, 91, of Kankakee, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Visitation will be Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Lax Mortuary and again on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend C. Ramont Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Earnest â€Å"Lil Boot†Robertson was born July 15, 1926 in Crawford, Mississippi to Rodger Robertson and Hattie Malone Buckhalter. At an early age, he joined Oakland Missionary Baptist Church. In 1950 he moved to Kankakee, IL and joined Morning Star Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Galloway. He served as an usher for over 50 years. His employment consisted of Roper, The Kankakee Foundry and A. O. Smith, from which he retired. He was united in holy matrimony to the former Sarah F. Jones on January 1, 1975. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, watching TV, hunting and gardening. He had a way of coming up with sayings that only he could say. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sarah F. Robertson of Kankakee, IL; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ernest and DanTaya Robertson II of Kankakee, IL and Eric Robertson (Jennifer Reiners) of Sun River Terrace, IL; five daughters and one son-in-law, Hatti Robertson and Dorothy Robertson, both of St. Louis, MO, Lillie Ann and George Burnette of Brooksville, Mississippi, Earnestine Robles of Seattle, WA and Barbara Love of Brooklyn Park, MN; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several ‘adopted’ daughters and goddaughters; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jimmie Lee Mosley; a sister, Augusta Lee Jackson; one niece, Mattie B. Short; two nephews, Jimmie Lee Mosley Jr. and Pejo, and a great grandson, Kamani Davis.
