DeArrion Harris, 26, of Kankakee, IL, died Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital. Visitation will be Friday, November 21, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Lax Mortuary and again on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 9:00 A. M. until time of Funeral services at 10:00 A.M. at Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Ronald Bartlett will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. DeArrion Harris was born July 13, 1988 in Kankakee, IL to James Harris Jr. and Katherine Wilkes. He graduated from Kankakee High School in 2006. He was a member of Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church and participated in the youth group. He worked for Tyson Foods. DeArrion loved family and enjoyed video games and rap music. He leaves to cherish is memory, his mother, Katherine Wilkes of Kankakee, IL; two sons, Quin Flowers of Kankakee, IL and Dereon Harris of Colorado Springs, CO; one daughter, Shanell Harris of Colorado Springs, CO; two brothers, Reico Ewing and Marco Ewing, both of Kankakee, IL; his maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Jackson of Yazoo, Mississippi; his paternal grandmother, Joyce Harris of Kankakee, IL; maternal aunts, Margaret Dixon of North Carolina, Bobbie Jackson of Yazoo, Mississippi, Linda Gardner of St. Louis, MO, and Josephine Wilkes and Mary Wilkes, both of Kankakee, IL; maternal uncles, Henry Wilkes of Kankakee, IL and Joe Jackson Jr. of Tennessee; paternal uncles, Paul Harris and Joseph Harris, both of Kankakee, IL; a special friend, Angela Joseph of Kankakee, IL and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his grandfathers, James Harris Sr. and Henry Wilkes Sr.; one uncle, Otha Wilkes and one aunt, Lucresia Harris.
