    CALVIN V. ANTHONY

    February 10, 1930 - April 23, 2011

    Calvin V. â€Å"Peter†Anthony was born on February 10, 1930 in Batesville, Mississippi, to George and Minnie Baker Anthony. He was baptized at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church, where he was the chairman of the deacons and a member of the usher board. Calvin was joined in holy matrimony to Emma Jean Lewis on February 24, 1952 and to this union was born 12 children. He worked for a steel mill for a numbers of years, and then ran his own business, Pembroke Wood Company for 27 years. He enjoyed going out and traveling, but will be most remembered for being an entrepreneur. His journey in this life ended on Saturday April 23, 2011. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Emma Jean Anthony, of Bourbonnais, IL; nine sons and four daughters-in-law, Willie and Shirley Pride of Lawton, OK, Robert Anthony and Rodger Anthony both of Pembroke TWP, IL, Calvin and Rebecca Anthony of Kankakee, IL, Richard and Gwendolyn Anthony of Indianapolis, IN, Michael and Sherri Anthony of Sterling, VA, Jerry Anthony, John Jefferson of Kankakee, IL, and Charles Jefferson of Momence, IL; three daughters, Judy Brown of Indianapolis, IN, Julia Anthony Brown of Madison ,WI, and Verna Anthony of Kankakee, IL; two brothers and one sister-in-law , George and Joyce Anthony of Dolton, IL and Dwayne Gregory of St Louis, MO; three sisters, Sara Munns of Cleveland, OH, Louise Mondy of Hopkins Park, IL and Penelope Anthony of Chicago, IL; six brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law, Roosevelt and Betty Lewis and Luester Anthony all of Chicago IL, George Lewis, Joe Lewis, Larry Lewis, James Lewis, Calvin Lewis, Gladys Harris and Dorothy Mae Lewis all of Batesville, MS and Mary House of Sardis, MS; 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Josephine Anthony; two brothers, James Anthony and L.G. Anthony; and three sisters, Dovie Anderson, Emma Pittman and Mable Anthony.
