BETTY JOHNSON Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty Ann Johnson, 70, of Bourbonnais, IL, died February 19, 2015 at her home. Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. until time of Funeral Services at 10:00 A.M. at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Ernest Rucker will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Betty Ann Johnson was born March 15, 1944 in Starkville, Mississippi. She was the fourth of seven children born to Jimmie Sr. and Louise Dell (Evans) Johnson. Betty was baptized into faith at an early age. She was a member of Guiding Star Missionary Non Denomination Church, where she served as a church clerk. Betty worked as a homemaker for many years and will be remembered most for her love of church music. She really enjoyed being around family, going to church, teaching the bible, watching western movies, and baking cakes. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and James Armstrong of Bourbonnais, IL; one son, Charles Johnson of Bourbonnais, IL; eight stepchildren, William Crowell, James Crowell, Aaron Crowell Jr., Joseph Crowell, Carolyn Jones, Mary Hinds, Louvenia Childs and Loucora Crowell; a special daughter, Ursula Johnson of Texas; three sisters, Alma Jarrett, Betty Jean Logan, and Mary Agnes Johnson all of St. Anne, IL; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her life partner, Rev. Aaron Crowell Sr., her parents Jimmie Sr. and Louise Johnson, a daughter, Lola Johnson, a stepson, Joshua Crowell, two sisters, Mary Louise Bynum and Bessie Kate Johnson, and one brother, Jimmy Johnson Jr.
