Arthur Lewis Randle, 68, of Kankakee, IL, died October 3, 2017 at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields. Visitation will be Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Lax Mortuary and again on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 10:00 A.M. at Second Baptist Church. Elder Carl Randle Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Arthur Lewis Randle was the sixth of eight children, born April 13, 1949 in Kankakee, IL to Ernest and Sallie Fulton Randle. Arthur was of the Baptist faith. He graduated in 1967 from Eastridge High School, where he excelled iin academics, football and wrestling. He attended Kankakee Community College and graduated in 1974 with an Associate Degree in Accounting from Mary Crest Business College. He was an avid learner with a gifted, brilliant mind. He always had a thirst for knowledge and truly believed Ã¢â‚¬Å"knowledge was power.Ã¢â‚¬Â He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 until 1975. He had worked for General Foods as a forklift operator and as a mental health technician at Shapiro Developmental Center. Besides history, black authorsÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ books and reading newspapers, Arthur also loved Ã¢â‚¬Å"mindÃ¢â‚¬Â games; chess, dominos, checkers and card games. His music collection consisted of music that transformed and empowered people. We will miss his intellectual conversations about life, politics, world events, and his Ã¢â‚¬Å"trash talking.Ã¢â‚¬Â He leaves to mourn his passing, but to rejoice in his memory, four sons, Arthur Randle, Christopher Randle and Everett Randle, all of Bloomington, IL and Mario Wells of Fredericksburg, VA; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Chanda and Romeo Wheeler of Milwaukee, WI, Sequita and Richard Bridges of Casa Grande, AZ, Stacy Randle and Jasmine Randle, both of Bloomington, IL; his siblings, Richard and Voneva Randle of Battle Creek, MI, Kenneth and Michelle Randle, Pastor Carl Sr. and Bobbie Randle, Esther Bogan, Maybell Brown, Howard Stewart, Rachel Stewart and Peggy Williams, all of Kankakee, IL, Renee Stewart of Bourbonnais, IL, Polly Stewart of St. Paul, MN and Virginia Robinson of Peoria, IL; one aunt, Beulah Griffin of Columbus, Mississippi; 13 grandchildren; his former wife, Cletora Hunt; special daughter, Tellisa and Richard Norment of Dallas, TX; special friends, Robert Hudson Jr., Tommy Thomas, Sanders Brown, Dennis Brown and Mike Wells, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Rev. Ezell Sr. and Mother Lucy Fulton; two brothers, Ernest Randle Jr. and Terry Stewart and five sisters, Beatrice Randle-Cottrell, Josie Randle, Ernestine Ã¢â‚¬Å"PepperÃ¢â‚¬Â Randle-Key, Genevieve Stewart and Julianna Stewart.
