    September 1, 1966 - January 25, 2012

    Antonio L. Davis, age 45, of Kankakee, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at his home. Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Lax Mortuary, and again on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Pastors Robert and Ernest Rucker will officiate. Burial will be in Restvale Cemetery in Alsip, IL. Arrangements are by Lax Mortuary, Kankakee, IL. Antonio L. Davis was born September 1, 1966 in Chicago, IL to Anthony Ridley, and Carol Ann Davis. He was baptized at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member and served on the Deacon Board, sang in the choir and was an armor bearer for the pastor. He was a 1985 graduate of Corliss High School in Chicago, IL. He was united in holy matrimony to Aletha Hunter-Hite on June 13, 1992 and they had two daughters. Mr. Davis worked as a bus driver for the City of Kankakee and also was a driver for Hoekstra Farms and Premier Transportation and had worked as a security guard for the Kmart Corporation. He enjoyed play station, golf, volleyball, softball and all sports and loved eating chicken. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Aletha Davis of Kankakee, IL; two daughters and one son-in-law, Aeekeysha and Ricardo Moody of Decatur, AL and Alicia Hunter of Kankakee, IL; his mother, Carol Ann Davis-Burnett of Chicago, IL; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald D. Sr. and Alicia Davis of Chicago, IL; one sister, Victoria Ridley of Chicago, IL; his mother-in-law, Florence Hite of Kankakee, IL; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Palmer of Des Moines, Iowa and Henry Hite Jr. of Kankakee, IL; paternal grandmother, Earlene Ridley of Chicago, IL; special cousins/sisters; Marlyn Hirsch of Chicago, IL and Bettie White of Kankakee, IL, a special niece, Raven M. Hunter of Kankakee, IL; five grandchildren, Arqese D. Elliott and Amorion S. Moody, both of Decatur, AL, A’Chila M. Ray, Arron T. Lee and Aries T. Lee, all of Kankakee, IL and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Ridley; maternal grandmother, Wilma Liddell, and a cousin, William Watson, Jr.
