Allen R. Shaw, 69 of West Allis, WI, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his home. Visitation will be Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. until time of Funeral Services at 12:00 noon at Lax Mortuary. Thomas Earl Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Allen R. Shaw was born December 5, 1943 in Memphis, TN to Allen Shaw and Ruby Rhodes. Having been baptized at an early age, he was a member of Carter Temple CME Church in Chicago, IL. He attended school in Memphis, TN before entering Catholic and public schools in Chicago, IL. He enlisted in the United States Navy where he attained the rank of Airman Apprentice and served during the Vietnam War. A world traveler, he worked as a merchant seaman for the Department of Defense. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Ruby Gomez of Sun River Terrace, IL; two sons, Kenneth Shaw of Sun River Terrace, IL and Ronnie Henderson of Memphis, TN, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
