Tommy Lee Ã¢â‚¬Å"CadillacÃ¢â‚¬Â Brooks, 67, of Kankakee, IL, died May 13, 2017 at Riverside Medical Center. Visitation will be Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at Lax Mortuary. Bishop Melvin Deal will officiate and Elder Marcus Tate will deliver the eulogy. Cremation rites will be accorded. Tommy Lee Ã¢â‚¬Å"CadillacÃ¢â‚¬Â Brooks was born October 12, 1949 in Raymond, Mississippi to Albert Brooks and Carrie Mack. He was a member of Christ Healing Temple. He worked for the Gilster-Mary Lee Corporation in Momence, IL and had also worked for GM Ford in Detroit, MI. He was united in marriage to Vickie Shaw on October 22, 2014. He enjoyed the outdoors and music. He leaves to cherish is memory, his wife, Vickie Shaw-Brooks of Kankakee, IL; one son and daughter-in-law, Antoine and Theresa Felix of St. Louis, MO; one stepson, Sidney and Chevon Shaw of Pembroke Township, IL; two stepdaughters, Shawn Harris and Nae Harris, both of Kankakee, IL; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Albert Ã¢â‚¬Å"BillÃ¢â‚¬Â and Mattie Mack, Nathaniel Ã¢â‚¬Å"LouisÃ¢â‚¬Â Ford, all of Kankakee, IL, Andre and Tracy Denson of Jackson, Mississippi and Willie Lee and Toya Brooks of Brandon, Mississippi; nine sisters and four brothers-in-law, Margaret Brooks Clay of Detroit, MI, Nancy and Ray Shelby, Rosie Crawford and Felita Brooks, all of Jackson, Mississippi, Marie Brooks of Kankakee, IL, Patricia and Larry Porter, Vickie Brooks and Stephanie Brooks Collier and Michael Collier, all of Jackson, Mississippi and Jackie and Jessie McIntosh of Brandon, Mississippi; grandparents-in-law, Evangelist Iona and Bishop Melvin Deal of Pembroke Township, IL; other in-laws, Sidney Lilly and Darryl Smith, both of Kankakee, IL and Melvin Shaw of Joliet, IL; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special friends, Cynthia Leggett and Lee Dillon, both of Kankakee, IL, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; seven brothers, Charles Brooks, Leonard Brooks, Willie Mack, J.C. Mack, Albert Mack, Willie Albert Ã¢â‚¬Å"JoeÃ¢â‚¬Â Mack and Tonny Brooks; and two sisters, Alatha Brooks and Cassandra Mitchell.
