Patricia Terrell

Patricia Ann Terrell, affectionately known as “Pat,” was born on January 21, 1952 in Kankakee, Illinois to the late Samuel “Buddy” Terrell and Oleatha “Bea” Terrell. She was a member of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher. Pat could always be counted on to fix a fantastic meal for her family as well as supporting local sporting teams in the community. Pat retired from Kankakee Terrace Nursing Facility where she worked as transportation director for 22 years. Pat passed away November 7, 2024 at Franciscan Health Hospital in Olympia Fields, Illinois. In loving memory, she leaves behind her children, Falisha Saxon, LaToya, LaKisha, and Michael Terrell, all of Kankakee; stepchildren, Lavonda (Derrick), Sanford Richardson, Tiffany, Frank Jr., Charles, and Jermiah Jones, Marcus, Iman and Yasmine Rowe, and a host of bonus children whose lives she played an instrumental role in; sisters, Marilyn Jones, Connie and Mary Terrell, all of Kankakee, Pamela Holder-Terrell of Minneapolis, MN; brothers, Sammy Lee, David (Minnie) and Harold Terrell, all of Kankakee, Joseph “Jo-Jo” Terrell of Harrisburg, Illinois and Cedric Terrell of San Tan Valley, Arizona; two step-brothers, Ced and Marc Landingham; one uncle, Fred Winfield of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Stevie Harris, Ceaja Terrell, Diamond and Di’mond Brooks, Nahzir Hill, Cory Trapp Jr., Mahlyia and Robert Johnson, China, Turquoise and Angelo Richardson, Krishonda, Chris Jr., Derika, Derrick Jackson Jr., Reggie and Chris Jones, Chelsea, Charles Jr., and Chase Jones; great-granddaughter, Anila Harris and goddaughter, Takierra Bender. Pat also leaves her cherished memories behind to a host of nieces and nephews who were the very soul of her; very special friends, Sandra Rhoden, Arlynn and Lisa Drew, Perry Wright, Frank Jones and Darren Samuels; very special cousins, Francis, Robert, Q.T. and Larry Houston. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Lars and Lizzie Holder and George and Hon Terrell; sisters, Linda Holder, Betty Joyce Terrell and brother, Charles Terrell, additionally, her beloved children, Twanna and Sanford Saxon Jr. Pat enjoyed playing cards, cooking, shopping, decorating, hosting parties and events, and watching her children and grandchildren being involved in sports activities. Her all-time favorite R&B singer was Teddy Pendergrass. Pat’s reason for existence was family, she loved and adored every single one of them!
