Maybell Randle Brown

Maybell Randle Brown was the second of eight children born September 20, 1940 in Artesia, Mississippi to Ernest and Sallie Fulton Randle. Maybell confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, Mississippi under the pastorate of Rev. Garfield Boyd. After relocating to Kankakee, IL at a young age, Maybell attended area schools graduating from Kankakee High School in 1958. After graduation, she worked for Jerome and Joan Marshall, the owners of Tari and Todd Children Store in Kankakee, for nine years. After her tenure with the Marshall’s, Maybell began working at Manteno Mental Health in Manteno, IL and Tinley Park Mental Health in Tinley Park, IL, as a mental health technician, retiring after 33 years of service. Maybell was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed family gatherings, planting flowers, playing card games, reading, crossword puzzles and watching Westerns, game shows and soap operas on TV. Maybell leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life, two children, son, Todd (Tiffany) Brown of Kankakee, IL, and daughter, Constance (Gordon) Hines of Bourbonnais, IL; three granddaughters, Alexandria Elaine and Taylor Rae Hines and Sydney Alexia Brown; two great-grandsons, Kameron Anthony Reed and Ryan Malik Thornton; brothers, Richard (Voneva) Randle of Battle Creek, MI, Kenneth (Michelle) Randle, Pastor Carl A. (Bobbie) Randle Sr. and Howard (Gail) Stewart, all of Kankakee, IL; sisters, Esther Randle Bogan, Renee Stewart, Rachel Stewart, Polly (Joe) Mendez, all of Kankakee, IL and Virginia Robinson of Peoria, IL; Goddaughters, Tari Marshall, Ruth Hatcher, Shalone Graves, Karen Gardner and JoAnna Armstrong; special friends, Doris Banks, Miranda Nolan, Bernice Jackson, Carrie Smith, Shirley Sykes, Elizabeth Bauer, Walter Spurlock and Todd Byrd, and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. Maybell traded her earthly vessel for a heavenly body on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Waiting to greet her Home were her parents; her grandson, LaSalle Jamer Brown; paternal grandparents, Free Randle and Magalene Thompson; maternal grandparents, Rev. Ezell Fulton Sr. and Mother Lucy Fulton; brothers, Ernest Randle Jr., Arthur Randle and Terry Stewart; sisters, Beatrice Randle-Cottrell, Josie Marie Randle, Ernestine “Pepper” Randle-Key, Julie Stewart and Peggy Williams; “The Fulton 12:” her uncles, Ezell Jr., Harris, Robert, Peter, Thomas and Charlie Will Fulton; her aunts, Lucy Williams, Maerena Fulton, Beulah Griffin, Frances Jackson and Ronnie Williams; close friends, Adele Newman, Leatrice Hairston-Graves, Laura Dillard, Gladys Lawrence and Hattie Whitlow. Once you become a friend of The Randle Family, you become Family.
