Lola Brown

Lola Brown (56) of Arlington, TX departed this life for eternal life on July 23, 2021. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Delores Brown and Robert Hill on September 20, 1964. She grew up in Hopkins Park, Illinois as the eldest child with her grandparents James & Lucy Brown, and their other children. Lola graduated from St Anne High School in St. Anne, Illinois. Later, Lola graduated from Jarvis Christian College in East Texas with a bachelor's of science degree. She furthered her education at The University of Texas at Arlington where she pledged Omega Gem and decided to make Arlington, TX her home. One of Lola's greatest joys earlier in life was giving birth to her son, Eric L. Tatum of Kankakee, Illinois. She would later add to this joy with the birth of her daughter, Porsche Jenkins of Arlington, TX; both of whom she leaves behind to cherish her memory. Lola spent most of her professional career as a social worker and educator within the local school districts. Although she proclaimed her love for Christ as a young adult, Lola was reborn and baptized at Eastland Church of Christ in Fort Worth, Texas on July 23, 2017. Bringing her grandson Clarence Williams; age 6, and granddaughter Paisley Williams; age 3, to church with her on Sundays and watching movies with them was a favorite pastime. Lola lived boldly with no regrets. She will be most remembered for handling business for others, taking care of her grandchildren, and always “telling it like it is.” Lola leaves many close friends and family to cherish her memory including her two children, two grandchildren, maternal siblings, Ida Dorsey, Murelene Brown, and Ronnie Jones. Other siblings, LaQuashia Hill, Staffon and London Goodwin, Kechia Denton, and Robbin Richardson. Nieces, Terri and Temika Martin, TaShona and Tanosha Dorsey, Shanaya Brown, and Arianna Lewis-White. Nephews, Aaron Lewis Jr, and Aramis Jones. Her god-brothers and sisters Cathy, Curtis, Mazeric, and Lazeric Butler, Pamela Washington, and Marie Bowles. A host of cousins and adoptive family, and church friends…She will be missed. Lola was preceded in death by her mother, Delores Brown, and her grandparents James and Lucy Brown.
