Ethel Moore

Ethel Mae (Richardson) Moore was born December 30,1933, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Her parents were John and Samella (Aaron) Richardson. She was baptized into the Baptist faith at an early age. At the time of her transition, she was a member of Greater Grace Church, Momence IL. There she served as a mother of the church. Mother Moore made her transition on February 22, 2023 at Riverside Medical Center. Her first marriage was to Robert Roundtree and to that union four children were born. Later she was united in matrimony to Floyd Moore. To that union six children were born. She and Floyd remained united until his death. In earlier years she was a member of the Eastern Star. Mother Moore spent many hours raising money for fire hydrants for the Pembroke Township Community. She was employed by KCAP, where she was responsible for transporting seniors to different destinations. Mother Moore, was beloved by the community in which she lived. She was known for giving advice that left you thinking, but knowing what to do. She is known for sharing this word of wisdom, “All you got to do is pray.” She believed in working and saving. Surviving are her sons, Floyd & Debra Richardson of Hixson, Tennessee; Alan & Terry Roundtree of Pembroke Township, Illinois; Robert & Sharon Roundtree of Mobile, Alabama; David & Sheila Roundtree of Kankakee, Illinois; Johnny B. Moore of Chicago, Illinois; and Harry Moore of Oceanside, California. Surviving Daughters are, Anne L. Solomon of Belle Rose, Louisiana; Hattie Mae Chandler of Hammond, Indiana; Janice & Jimmie Lenard of Clarksdale, Mississippi. She also leaves to mourn her passing, over 22 grandchildren, more than 50 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by husbands, Robert Roundtree and Floyd Moore. Sons, Tommie Roundtree, Jerry Roundtree, Eddie Roundtree, a Floyd Moore Jr Percy and Jose Solomon. Daughters, Lucinda Moore, Verline (Richardson) Carroll, and Roberta (Richardson) Burns and Velma Moore. Grandchildren Raymond Roundtree, one great granddaughter Donye Thompson. She was the last living child of her parents.
