DELPHIA CLARK

Delphia Clark, 56, of Kankakee, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Presence St. MaryÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Hospital. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lax Mortuary. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 11:00 a. m. at Free Christian Center, 111 Oak Street, Kankakee, IL. Reverend Ervin T. Marshall Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Delphia Clark was born June 20, 1957 in Chicago, IL to Charles W. Garner and Katherine V. Calhoun. She graduated from Eastridge High School and received an Associate Degree from Kankakee Community College. She had worked at Shapiro Developmental Center, for 25 years, at Indian Oaks Academy and was currently employed as a supervisor at KCTC. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Christopher Clark Sr. on October 3, 1996 and she was the First Lady at Free Christian Center. Mrs. Clark will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her compassion and her love for children. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, singing, cooking, watching CSI and being a wedding coordinator. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Pastor Christopher Clark Sr. of Kankakee, IL; five sons and one daughter-in-law, Cameron Kennedy of Bourbonnais, IL, Christopher Clark Jr. and Corran and Derrica Clark, all of Kankakee, IL, Cortess Clark of Virginia and Katarian Clark of Austin, TX; four daughters, Tristan Kennedy of Bourbonnais, IL, Reygan Kennedy of Kankakee, IL, Chrissy Clark of Florida and Dasha Clark of Alabama; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles W. Jr. and Coretta Garner of Kankakee, IL, Julian and Helen Calhoun of San Diego, CA and Terrence and Adline Calhoun of Kankakee, IL; five sisters and one brother-in-law, Yuvette Idowu, Paulette Calhoun, Charmagne Calhoun, Vernessa and Milton Turner and Norma Jean Calhoun, all of Kankakee, IL; her father-in-law and his companion, Steve Clark and Laverne Yates of Kankakee, IL; her mother-in-law, Josephine Clark of Flint, MI; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lee Edward Clark of Flint, MI, Steve and Maqueta Muschatt Clark and Angela Clark, all of Kankakee, IL and Gilmel March of Naperville, IL; special lifelong friend, Lynnette Johnson of Kankakee, IL; special friend, Debbie McCurry of Kankakee, IL; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kidd Kennedy and a sister, Anjenette Honeysuckle.
